So, on Wednesday Drea, Kristen, and I met up for the “This Is Teen” event at local indie bookstore. (Well, kind of local. It’s a great meeting place for the three of us — almost right in the middle of all of our homes!)
And we got to hear the always wonderful Libba Bray, Meg Cabot, and Maggie Stiefvater speak about their books and tell us stories, and yes, we even played Mad Libs!
But…having Meg Cabot there, for me, completely overshadowed EVERYTHING. I read “The Princess Diaries” right before the Disney movie came out. (Book is better!) And Meg Cabot has been one of my idols since I was an actual teenager!
Anyway, I brought a vintage (!) Princess Diaries book, bought at a Waldenbooks, to be signed for my sister. (We shared books when we were little and once they re-covered The Princess Diaries books, I gave Laura full ownership of the old copies.) And after Meg signed the books, I managed NOT to say anything too stupid and somehow wound up behind the table and MEG CABOT HUGGED ME.
Sigh, guys, did this really happen?
Oh, yeah, thank GOODNESS Drea took a picture for proof!

(The picture is slightly blue, but that’s my camera’s fault!)
Best day ever? I THINK SO!
Was this at Anderson’s? I was there too! (Belated Hi!) Great picture of you and Meg – my friend and I kept commenting on how she looked like a supermodel! Are you going for the Ally Carter event? I’m super excited!
Awesome!!! I had a friend in the area who met Maggie at a This is Teen event and she said she was amazing. I love hearing about everyone’s author encounters. Fun fun fun!
