TEASER TUESDAYS is a weekly event, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading, where you ‘tease’ others with a little bit from the book you’re currently reading, making them want to read it, too!
How to participate:
* Grab your current book and open to a random page & share two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page
* Make sure what you share is NOT a spoiler
* Include the title, author and page number so that others can read the book if they like the ‘teaser’
* Head on over to Should Be Reading and leave a comment on the Teaser Tuesday post there
I closed my eyes, leaned over my candles, and prayed to the cake fairy or the God of Birthdays or whoever was in charge that Matt Perino — Frankie’s brother and my best-friend-that’s-a-boy — would finally kiss me. It was the same secret wish I’d made ever year since Frankie and I were ten and Matt was twelve and I accidently fell in love with him. (pg. 3)

Models Don’t Eat Chocolate Cookies by Erin Dionne
Two weeks earlier, when Christian introduced me to the reflection of Model Celeste, I couldn’t believe how great I looked. This time, I just couldn’t believe how I looked. (p 142)

You Know Where to Find Me by Rachel Cohn
My eyes lock with Jim’s across the room, and in that flash instant, no one exists in this room besides the two of us. In that brief moment, our eyes remembered a shared lifetime of Laura, and I see his chest suddenly heave, trying to contain a sob-he who has remained stoic and gracious throughout the afternoon, comforting all those who are trying to comfort him. Hero by Perry Moore
Apparently I knocked out the power a whole half mile in diameter. Of course the cameras and news crews carried their own power and recorded everything, and I do mean everything. pg 170

Bloodhound by Tamora Pierce
“And if I don’t, you’ll leave off pawing me?” I asked, trying to to tug free his hold. I confess , I tried very little. His arm was strong and warm, his hand flat against my belly. I could feel that as if I had no dress nor shift between me and his palm. pg 253
(Okay, so it’s a little longer than 2 sentences, but I couldn’t just cut it off!)
